Noise Dosimetry

A noise dosimetry study involves fitting workers with noise dosimeters – special sound level meters - to measure their workday noise exposure. This is often required to assess compliance with OSHA or ACGIH/NIOSH standards. We test at least one representative from each job classification that works in noisy areas to produce an assessment of workday noise exposure for all employees that are potentially included in a hearing conservation study.

Mapping

Noise level mapping consists of sampling ambient sound levels throughout the plant. The samples will then be plotted on a map of the plant and noise contours will be calculated and plotted from these values. The product is a map or set of maps that can be used to quickly identify hearing conservation areas.
